House Wash and Roof Soft Wash in Woodstock VT

This one had a little bit of everything. A historic home with dark lap siding, a metal standing seam roof with some visible streaking and organic buildup, and a few outbuildings that had seen better days. The kind of place that has real character - but needed a good cleaning to let that character show again.

For the siding, we used soft washing - low pressure with the right cleaning solution - to lift the buildup without any risk of damage to the wood. Same approach on the metal roof. Soft washing is the correct method for metal roofing because high pressure can work cleaning solution under seams and cause problems you don't want. The streaking and dark staining you could see running down from the skylight area? Gone.

What's easy to overlook is how much a clean exterior actually protects a home. Algae and mold aren't just ugly - they hold moisture against surfaces and break down paint and finishes over time. Getting ahead of it with a regular wash keeps your exterior in better shape and extends the life of whatever coating is on there. For a home with as much history as this one, that matters.
