This was a solid exterior tune-up for a home in Williston, VT. Three separate issues, all addressed in one visit - deck staining, clogged gutters, and driveway cracks that needed to be sealed before they got worse. Here's a look at what we were working with and what we got done.

The deck was the most visible part of the job. The wood was dried out and faded, and without protection, Vermont weather will chew through an unfinished deck fast. We applied TWP stain, working it into the boards and the curved railing sections along the brick pillars. The color came out rich and even, and more importantly, the wood is now protected against moisture, UV, and whatever the next few seasons throw at it.

The gutters were packed. Pine needles, berries, decomposed debris - the kind of buildup that blocks water flow and can start causing fascia damage if it sits long enough. We cleared everything out and got the channels flowing again. Gutters don't need to be complicated, but they do need to actually work.

The driveway had a long, branching crack running through it. Left alone, water gets in, freezes, and turns a manageable crack into a much bigger repair bill. We filled it with hot rubberized crack filler to seal it up and slow that process down. It's one of those things that's easy to overlook but makes a real difference in how long your asphalt holds up.

All three of these are the kind of maintenance tasks that homeowners in Vermont know they need to stay on top of - and this home is in good shape heading into the rest of the year.
